Grovetown, GA – Entered into rest Friday, August 06, 2010, age 60, SFC Linda D. Plyler of Grovetown, GA.
SFC Plyler was a native of Lancaster, SC and had resided in the Augusta area. She loved senior citizens and people in need, especially children. While stationed in Arlington, VA she sponsored the Special Olympics Team. One particular child, Cullen became very close to her heart. SFC Plyler was a member of the Patriot Guards. She visited veterans in the hospital through the group of Vets Helping Vets. SFC Plyler helped interpret for the deaf and she volunteered at the VA Hospital. Her main love was loving the Lord.
Family members include mother Dorothy P.Young of Bluffton, SC, father Jimmy Ackerman of Lancaster, SC, fiancé Joseph P. Mulligan.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 8, 2010 at 1:00 PM. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park with full military honors. Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of Disabled American Vets #44 & #10, American Legion #192, Vietnam Veterans of America-Georgia Chapter.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the Epilepsy Foundation, Attn: Accounting Department, 8301 Professional Place, Landover, MD 20785-7223 or to a charity of ones choice.
