Linda "Faye" Glass (Williams)

Linda Faye Glass (Williams), 72, entered into rest Monday, March 18, 2024.

Linda “Faye” Glass (Williams) was born in Cleveland, Mississippi to Samuel and Ester Lee Williams on November 1, 1951.  Her family later moved to Chicago Heights, Illinois where she was raised and graduated from Bloom Township High School.  She was an awesome anointed singer and lead songs and solos in the choir at Portland Street Church of God in Christ (Illinois), where she was a member for many years.  She worked at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, Illinois for nearly 25 years in administration.  Faye loved to laugh, drink coffee, cook, and go out to eat.  Her favorite restaurant was Red Lobster.  She loved music of all genres and loved to sing and BOP (dance).  She was very fashionable (jazzy) and loved to dress up in her jewelry and wear her red lipstick.

Faye never met a stranger and was very friendly.  She would talk to people in the stores while shopping and everywhere she went.  She loved her family very much and would do anything for her daughters and grandchildren.  Faye also loved each of her 11 siblings and would send gifts to her brothers and sisters on their birthdays.  She truly was a giving and generous woman.  Faye also did not hesitate to speak her mind and would tell you how she felt.  She was a very strong-willed lady and overcame many challenges throughout her life, she was a true fighter.  Faye will truly be missed.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Ester Lee Williams, as well as her brother Samuel Williams, Jr.  Faye leaves behind her beloved three daughters: Carla Glass-Jones (Donald), Leslie Glass, Sharlynda Glass-Lewis (Marlowe); five grandchildren: Morgan Scriber, Miracle Glass, Serenity Johnson, Marcelles Moore, Donovan Jones and two great grandchildren: Elliott and Elise Fayeth.   She also leaves behind her five sisters: Ernestine Catlett, Janice Smith, Tracy Hurt, Chandra Goodwin (Edward), and Ester Hope (Warren) and five brothers: Roger Williams (Rhonda), Gregory Williams (Darlene), Ivan Glenn Williams (Laura), Mark Williams (Soina) and Joseph Williams (Kimberly Yvette), as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
