Augusta, GA – Lois Althea Behn Thomas, 79, was called home by her Lord on October 9, 2013. Lois was born November 20, 1933, to Rev. Paul and Esther Behn in White River, AZ. Lois is survived by her husband of 54 years, Peter; sisters: Laurel Schuster (husband Don), Miriam Behnke (husband Robert), Ruth Kobs (husband Russ); daughters: Laura Evans (husband Bill), Margaret Cleveland (husband Scott), Sally Thomas, Patricia Cleary (husband Jim), Jeanne Thomas, Barbara Thomas; grandchildren: Matthew, Catherine, Timothy, Jack, Zachary, James, Benjamin; and numerous extended family.
Lois loved to sing, cook, and sew. She sang in the church choir for many years, was an amazing baker, and grew the most exquisite orchids. She lived these loves through faithful service to the church, her family, and her community.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 20 at 3:00 PM, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 3703 Old Petersburg Road, Martinez, GA 30907. Guests will be received after the service in the fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Louis Thomas to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 3703 Old Petersburg Rd. Martinez, GA 30907.
