Lois Davidson Scott

Lois Davidson Scott, beloved wife of the late Vernon G. Scott, died August 12, 2009, at her home in Augusta. Mrs. Scott was born in 1925 in Evans, Georgia, to Clyde and Lucille Davidson, and was the third of seven children. She later graduated from Evans High School and Bolen's Business College. Lois and Vernon married on April 1,1945. Mrs. Scott is survived by family members including two daughters: Jayne Scott Toole (Tim), of Bonita Springs, Fl, and Joan Scott Toole of Augusta; three granddaughters, Kimberly W. Jackson (H.L., III) of Suwanee, GA, Alison E. Athay and her son Oliver Grant Athay of Seattle, WA, and Julia A. Toole of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two sisters: Evelyn D. Nixon and Juanita Coufal of Augusta; and a brother: Tommy Davidson, of Augusta.. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings: Carolyn Bargeron, Ina Hunt, and Bobby Davidson; as well as her grandson-in-law, Benjamin Grant Athay. She was a special grandmother to Kim, Alison, and Julia and was very proud of her "girls" and their accomplishments. The family wishes to offer special thanks to her caregivers from Hope Hospice. The graveside will be held Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 3:30 in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Augusta, Georgia. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 2607 Commons Blvd, Augusta, GA 30909.
