Entered into rest August 24, 2024, Mrs. Loma Greene Denney, Augusta, GA. Mrs. Denney was born February 1, 1938 in Macon, GA. She moved to Columbus, GA in 1956 when she married John William Denney, Sr., now deceased. She loved beyond measure her family and friends and from a very young age had a passion for horses and riding. Long time equestrian and active member of Midland Fox Hounds, Midland, GA she enjoyed fox hunting and dressage.

In later years, Mrs. Denney became interested in her genealogy which led to her involvement with the Daughters of the American Revolution. 

After living in Columbus for 66 years, Mrs. Denney moved to Thrive Senior Living to be closer to family. She cherished her time there with staff and friends, bringing her love for games to the community. 

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Hollington (Larry) Augusta, GA, her son, Clifford Denney (Monika) Buford, GA, her grandson, Lt. Col. John Denney (Libby) Naples, FL, granddaughter, Lauren Menk (Peter) Augusta, GA, grandson, Neal Hollington (Lauren), Parker, CO, great granddaughters, Parker Denney and Mary Murray Menk, great grandson, Liam Denney, her brother, Roy Hill Greene, Jr. (Michele) Gainesville, GA, daughter in law Kelly Denney, Cape Cod, MA, and many nieces and nephews who adored her. She is preceased by her husband, John William Denney, son John William Denney, Jr., great granddaughter Morgen Elizabeth Denney, and brother Ray E. Greene. 

Services will be held in the Chapel at Striffler -Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus, GA Friday, August 30, 2024 at 11:00 am with The Rev. Kevin Calhoun officiating. The family will receive friends at Striffler-Hamby Friday, August 30th at 10:00 am prior to the service. 

Pallbearers will be Clifford Denney, Larry Hollington, John Denney, Neal Hollington, Peter Menk, and Brian Greene. 

The family wishes to extend thanks to Thrive Senior Living for making Augusta home for Mrs. Denney. A special thank you to Robbie Harrell and Sheila Brown for bringing love and sunshine to her every day. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Thrive Senior Living, 313 Fury’s Ferry Rd., Martinez, GA 30907 or the charity of your choice.
