Hephzibah, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, October 8, 2017, Louis R. Lepping, 71, loving husband of 36 years to Susan Lepping.
In 1945, Lou was born in Philadelphia to the late Jerome and Madeline Lepping. He retired after 26 years in the United States Army Signal Corp and received his Eagle Scout in 1964. He attended OCS and earned a degree in Computer Science and in Education. Also, he was an instructor of ANCOES at FT. Gordon. He holds numerous military awards including a Combat Infantry Badge. Lou has over one million safe driving miles of commercial trucking and was selected by Boyd Brothers Trucking to serve as a driver trainer for driver’s education for the state of Alabama.
He was a member of the Richmond Masonic Lodge #412 and past patron of OES Chapter 463. Mr. Lepping was also a member of Lincolnton Chapter OES 535, Patriot Guard, GWRA Motorcycle Group of Augusta, and was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Family members, in addition to his wife, include his brother: Jerome Lepping (Marie) of Langhorne, PA; brother in law: Charles Bunting of Bluefield, VA; sister in law: Linda K. Potter (Jim) of Princeton, WVA; niece: Laura Sue Lane (Bill); grand-niece: Katelyn Elizabeth Lane all of Charleston, SC; and fur babies: Leeza and Dusty.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Van Alstine celebrant. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
A vigil service will be Friday evening at 5:30 P.M., a Masonic service will be held at 6:00 and the family will receive friends until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
