Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Monday, July 12, 2010, Mr. Louis L. Hattman, 83, husband of Mrs. Ann M. Rhodes Hattman.
Mr. Hattman was a native of Orlando, Florida and joined the United States Navy after high school. In 1952 he moved to Augusta and began working with Civil Service at Fort Gordon where he stayed for the next 33 years as a Signal Corps Instructor. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Masons and American Legion. He was an active member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church and currently St. Joseph’s.
Family members in addition to his wife include: daughters: Cherie Foster (Dan), Michele Hattman and Susan Kitchens (Rick), son: Patrick Hattman (Lynda), step children: Teresa Nunnaley, Donna Newman and Paul Bennett (Sharon), numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Hattman was preceded in death by his first wife, the late Eloise Sheahan Hattman and grandson, Robert Louis Foster.
Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Matthew Ericksen celebrant. Interment will be at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: Paul Michael Bennett, Steven Foster, Rick Kitchens, Charlie Webster, Ronnie Strength and Jamie Crosby.
