North Augusta, SC – Mrs. Louise Patterson Gambill Bussey, 59, loving wife of Ray Bussey, entered into rest on Monday, September 28, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Bussey was a mother of four children and grandmother of nine.
She was born in Augusta, the fifth of eight children. She graduated from Aquinas High School in 1974.
Mrs. Bussey enjoyed painting, fishing at the lake and spending time with her family. She was a Master Gardener. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, and an active volunteer at Community Ministry of North Augusta.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years; her mother, Mary Markwalter Gambill; her son, Raymond Michael (Stephanie Collins); daughter, Karen Elizabeth Bussey Blaedow (Ryan Arthur); son, Daniel Patterson (Terri Nicole Proctor); daughter, Mary Margaret Bussey Watkins (William Travis); and her grandchildren, Gabriel Michael, Noah Liam, Caleb Collins, Tristen Elijah and Ethan Zachary Bussey; July Emerson Blaedow; Westin Ray Bussey; and AnnaLail Louise Watkins, all who dearly loved their “Weezie.”
She is also survived by three brothers and four sisters: Russell Floyd Gambill III, Mary Markwalter Gambill Henderson, Agnes Sheehan Gambill Mirshak (Timothy), Julia McTeer Gambill, Joseph Victor Gambill (Helen), Jean Marie Gambill Riess (Wayne) and Paul Robert Gambill (Kathleen).
She was preceded in death by her father, Russell Floyd Gambill Jr., and her grandson, William Emerson Watkins.
A memorial service will be held noon Friday, October 2, 2015 at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Rev. Lou Lindsey, celebrant. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Community Ministry of North Augusta, P.O. Box 7152, North Augusta, SC 29861.
The family will receive friends following the service.
