Louise Griffin Tallent

Entered into rest on Monday, July 15, 2024, Mary Louise Griffin Tallent, 80, loving wife of 59 years to Clarence T. “Jody” Tallent.

Louise was born in Florence County, South Carolina. She worked for over 30 years in banking, 25 of which were for SunTrust where she retired. Louise was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and former member of Pineview Baptist. She was very active in her churches and ran The Pinecone program at Pineview. Louise enjoyed reading and playing games, especially with her family whom she loved dearly.

Family members in addition to her husband Jody include her sons: Thomas Tallent (Debra) and Stacy Tallent (Laura); grandchildren: Robert Tallent, Taylor Wood (Jake), Erin Tallent, Ben Tallent, Margo Tallent, Sam Tallent; great grandchild: Miller Jane Wood; sisters: Frances McLaughlin, Rachael Lee and Peggy Leviner; brother: Frank McGee. She was preceded in death by her parents: Clyde and Mattie McGee and the parents who raised her, Sam and Nellie Griffin; siblings: Laverne McGee, Charles McGee, Runt McGee, Judy Lane, Lynette Morgan, Thelma Delk and Mary Brant.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Jerry Wilson and Rev. John Kilpatrick officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ben Tallent, Sam Tallent, Darren Woo, Nick Woo, Jacob Woo, Andrew Woo, and Thomas Woo.
