Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, March 6, 2018, Mr. Lowell Andrew Forbes, 78, loving husband to Ruth Reid Forbes.

Mr. Forbes was a believer in Jesus Christ and we are assured he rests in the arms of His Savior. He retired from the Veteran’s Administration Hospital as a Physician’s Assistant after serving the veterans for many years. Graduating from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s degree and continuing his education, he attended Physician’s Assistant School at Hahneman University in Philadelphia, PA. As a longtime member of Trinity on the Hill, he served as an usher for numerous years. He was a member of the Adult Couples and Singles Sunday School Class. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he was an avid reader and Master Gardener and enjoyed working in his yard.

Family members, in addition to his wife include daughter: Elizabeth Forbes Weeks and husband, Arthur E. Weeks, IV; son: Stephen Andrew Forbes; stepdaughter: Jennifer Burden Testino and husband, Joseph Paul Testino; grandchildren: Bridgette Testino Paine (Andrew), Rebecca Elizabeth Joiner, Kaylee Isabelle Forbes, Justin Blake Weeks; great grandchild: Caroline Elizabeth Paine; brothers: James Willis Forbes (Wanda), Garland Lee Forbes (Martha) and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents: Nannielee and James Garland Forbes; brother: David Forbes; sisters: Mary Dalton and Trecil Ellison.

A memorial service will be Saturday, March 10, 2018, 2:00 P.M. at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Hatfield and Dr. Mike Cash officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult Couples and Singles Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends one hour before the service beginning at 1:00 P.M. in the church gathering area. Interment to follow at Westover Memorial Park.
