Lt. Col. Anthony Privitera (Ret.)
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, March 07, 2013, Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Salvatore Privitera (Ret.), 90, loving husband of 67 years to Mary Privitera.
Lt. Col. Privitera was born in Mt. Morris, NY. He was a WWII veteran and a member of the Flying Tigers. He was one of the first registered male nurses in the Army and served three tours at Ft. Gordon. He served in both Germany and Korea. He also was a member of the Retired Military Golfers Association.
Family members in addition to his wife include son: Tony Privitera and wife Judy; granddaughter: Lori Dugas and husband Aaron; and great grandchildren: Grant and Lauren Dugas. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Joanne Privitera.
A funeral Mass will be held Monday, March 11, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Fr. Scott Winchel celebrant. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
