Martinez, GA – Lucille Oglesby Cole, 96, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Trinity Hospital surrounded by her family.

A graveside service will be held in Hillcrest Memorial Park on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Jerry Pitman and Rev. Wayne Jackson officiating.

She was an active member of Curtis Baptist Church for many years singing in the choir and later became a member of Faith Community Church in Evans. Mrs. Cole was born in Jenkins County and lived in Austell and Powder Springs, GA and then moved to Augusta in 1958.

She is preceded in death by her husband: O.B. Cole; parents: Grover and Daisy Oglesby; brother: Ray Oglesby; sister: Mae Sewall; son-in-law: Donnie Williams.

Survivors include two daughters: Barbara Williams, Connie Stewart (Richard); grandchildren: DeeDee Jewell, Lori Williams, Chad Hill (Lisa), Travis Mason (Sissy); great grandchildren: Tristian, Austin, Lauren, Addison; sister: Rean Rushing; sister-in-law: Marian Oglesby; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Mrs. Cole loved everyone and never missed an opportunity to tell them. Her deep love and selfless giving was expressed in her commitment to her Lord. She was the epitome of love and graciousness. “Charm is deceptive and beauty fleeting but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Her children arise and call her blessed.”

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to charity of one’s choice.
