Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Saturday, April 9, 2022, Barna “Mack” McKinne Hardwick, Sr., 83, loving husband of 54 years to Susan Wylds Hardwick.
A lifelong resident of Augusta and an active parishioner of The Church of the Good Shepherd, Mack attended schools in Richmond County and graduated from Evans High School. He attended Georgia Military College and graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science.
Before marrying Mack attended Evans Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon. After marriage he became a confirmed Episcopalian and served as an Adult Sunday School coordinator. For many years Mack also served as The Church of the Good Shepherd Ushers Coordinator.
Mack found his calling in vocational rehabilitation and enjoyed a long career with Easter Seals of Georgia.
After researching family history Mack became a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and grew his interest in genealogy. He also served as President of the Quadragenta Society an Augusta investment club.
Family members, in addition to his wife, include his daughter: Susan Hardwick Bess and husband Kenneth; son: Barna “Mack” McKinne Hardwick, Jr.; grandson: Jonathan Lucas Bess; brother: Robert Westbrook Hardwick and wife Donna; and many other loving family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Emily Hardwick, brother, George Hughes Hardwick, and sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Hardwick Hall.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in Westover Memorial Park with The Rev. Ted Clarkson and The Rev. Dr. Bunny Simon-Williams officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
