North Augusta, SC – Entered into rest Saturday, March 21, 2015, Mrs. Madeline Ross Barton, 96, loving wife to the late Jay D. Barton of North Augusta, SC.
Mrs. Barton was born in Warthen, GA to parents Alphis O. Ross and Mary Lillian Blount Ross. She graduated from Evans High School and retired as a secretary from DuPont. She was a member of North Augusta Southern Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters: Gladys Ross, Mildred Gardner, Edna Parrish, Kathleen Watkins, Mary Lillian Bell and Helen Bullock; and brothers: Hugh Ross and Harry Ross. She is survived by 6 nieces, 7 nephews and a great-niece with whom she lived for the past 4 years: Julie Hadden.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in Westover Memorial Park with Rev. H.B. Johnston officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to North Augusta Southern Methodist Church: 615 West Martintown Road, North Augusta, SC 29841.
The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
