Manuela’s early childhood was spent in the picturesque Bavarian alps (Germany) during the occupation years after World War II. Her young life included a mixture of fond, pleasant memories and difficult experiences during that tumultuous time. When she was a young teen, she moved with her family to the United States. She lived with her mom, siblings, and adoptive military father Charles Washington in Burlington, New Jersey, until she married Army soldier Charles Miller in 1965.
Bunchy was a woman of immense faith and promoted her faith not only in words but in her daily actions and treatment of others.
