Augusta, GA – Margaret Mary Barbay, 36, loving daughter of Stephen W. and Catherine McGee Barbay, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 30, 2023.

Family members in addition to her parents include her sisters: Catherine Marie Barbay, Carmen Maureen Barbay, Rosa Maria Barbay and Dora Marian Houda (Michael); nieces and nephew: Matisyn and Paiton Allison, Baileigh Horne, Carter Stephen Cruz and Luna Isabella Houda.

Margaret was a native of Augusta, Georgia. She graduated from the Alleluia Community School and worked in childcare, most recently with her nieces and nephew. Margaret loved Mexican food, coffee, music and dancing and was an excellent baker. She was kind, joyful, and a precious friend to many. Her favorite thing of all was spending time with her family, friends, nieces and nephew.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Van Alstine as celebrant and pastor Jeff Miller assisting. Interment will follow in Alleluia Community Cemetery in Dearing, GA. A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 7:00 P.M. in the Alleluia Community School gym.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vineyard Community Church, 3713 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30909.
