Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, March 29, 2012, Mrs. Margaret H. Hardy, 97, wife of 67 years to the late Cleveland “Bo” Hardy.
Mrs. Hardy was a native of Evans, GA. She is the daughter of the late Clinton P. Harley and Ada Harley Brown. She was a co-owner and manager of Hardy’s Heating and Air Conditioning, a business that she and her husband, Bo Hardy, started in 1950 and operated for 27 years in Augusta until their retirement in June of 1977 due to Bo’s declining health. Mrs. Hardy was a member of the Elks Aidmore where she volunteered for 12 years as the head of the Bingo program with proceeds benefiting the Atlanta organization for cripple children. She was also a member of the Augusta Boating Club. Mrs. Hardy was a former member of Abilene Baptist Church and a member of First Baptist Church of Augusta.
Family members include her brother: S. P. Harley; nephews: Tom Harley and wife Anne of Augusta, Sam Harley of San Francisco, CA; niece: Beverly McRae and husband Ken of Tyler, TX; and three great-nieces.
A Graveside service will be held Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Westover Memorial Park.
