Margaret Hickson

Mrs. Margaret Langley Hickson, 99, entered into rest October 31, 2021.

She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Hickson McGinty, and her son-in-law, Donald Edward McGinty, both of Augusta; her grandson, Johnathan Edward McGinty, and her granddaughter-in-law, Julie Davis McGinty, both of Watkinsville, Ga.; her granddaughter Jenny Gray, of Henderson, Nv.; her nieces Catherine Iuliano, Aimee Hopkins and Susan Hopkins; and her great-grandchildren Emma Katherine, Isabella, Abigail and Gabriel.

Mrs. Hickson was preceded in passing by her parents, Carroll Langley and Hester Ward; her brother, Carroll Langley, Jr.; her husband, Harold Hickson; and her daughter, Bonnie Dlugos.

Originally from Ellsworth, Me., Mrs. Hickson made Augusta her home for more than 60 years. She was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church where she faithfully enjoyed singing with the Young At Heart Singers. She also was a member of the Greenbrier Garden Club.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Thomas Poteet & Son with Revs. Sarge Nelson and Jim Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers are Patrick Mailer, Gene McGinty, Johnathan McGinty, Dr. Charlie Howell, Mac Redfern, Stephen Redfern and Lowell Risner.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the CSRA Humane Society or St. Mark United Methodist Church.
