Margaret Johnson
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, November 24, 2018, Mrs. Margaret Jordan Johnson, 87, loving wife of the late Charles Johnson.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Stevenson, AL on May 8, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Leland Walker Jordan and the late Mary Gonce Jordan. She was a graduate of John B. Stetson University in DeLand, FL and attained graduate degrees from Georgia Southern University. She retired from the Richmond County School System in 1991 where she was a Special Education Teacher, a School Psychologist, and a Child Serve Director of Georgia Learning Resources System. During her career she also was an elementary teacher in Apopka, FL; Osteen, FL; San Francisco, CA; and Monterey Unified School System, CA.
She is survived by her children: Isaac Walter Hawkins, III and wife Nancy, Richard David Hawkins and wife Valerie, Leigh E. Hawkins and wife Diana, and Diane E. Walker and husband Bubba; six grandchildren: Stacy Berret, Chris Doscher, Jon Hawkins, Ben Murphy, Stephine Morbach, and Jake Murphy; and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two stepchildren: Michael Johnson and wife Sandy, and Nancy McClellan and husband Bobby; and five step grandchildren. Also, surviving are brothers: Edward W. Jordan, Leland G. Jordan and wife Margaret. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Lynn Hawkins, sister, Frances Jordan Woodall, and sister-in-law: Reba Jordan.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Tom Kalliokoski officiating. Interment by her parents and grandparents will be in Stevenson, AL at a later date.
