Augusta, GA- Margaret Marsh Jackson entered into rest at her home October 2, 2013, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Jackson was born on September 23, 1926 in Salyersville, KY. Margaret was preceded in death by her late husband, William Earl “Abe” Jackson and step-daughter, Betty Brooks of Glen Burnie, Maryland. Affectionately known as ‘Nana’, Margaret had many interests but her greatest joy came from her family, God, Church, and friends.

Mrs. Jackson was a charter member of Community Methodist Church in Prestonsburg, KY., an active member of Burns Memorial United Methodist Church, Mary Cutter White Circle, delegate to North Georgia Conference for Burns Memorial United Methodist Church, Fellowship Sunday School Class, Wednesday Morning Bible Study, Aglow, Worthy Grand Matron, Alice Warren Chapter #483 of The Eastern Star and PEO.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Bentley, son, Mike Jackson, Sr., step-daughter Patricia Blackwelder and step-son, John Jackson. Nana was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren, two brothers; Paul Marsh and the late James Marsh both of Ashland, Kentucky and two sisters Dorothea May of Wheelersburg, Ohio and Helen Kirk of Conway, South Carolina. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers are the Fellowship Sunday School Class, Aglow, Alice Warren Chapter #483 of The Eastern Star and PEO.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 5th at 11:00 a.m. at Burns Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Burns United Methodist Church at 2372 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, GA 30906.

Her family would like to offer a special thanks to her caregivers, especially Edna Reddick and Alliance Hospice.
