Augusta, GA – Margie Bivens Smith, 93, entered into rest on August 2, 2015.
Ms. Smith was born at Cedar Grove Plantation and was a lifelong resident of Martinez, GA. She was a lifelong member of Abilene Baptist Church. She managed the lunch counter at the historical King Mill during the night shift. She took pride in being a very important part of her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s lives. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards. Ms. Smith was a beloved mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Ms. Smith leaves behind a daughter, Donna Hutto (Ronnie) of McCormick, SC; son: William “Billy” Smith, III; grandchildren: David Hutto (Kristin), and Laura Hutto Burnett (Steven). Ms. Smith had 5 great grandchildren Preston, William, and Rachel Hutto, and Keely and Satchel Dickson
A graveside service will be Thursday, August 6, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. at Abilene Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Abilene Baptist Church at 3917 Washington Road, Martinez, GA 30907.
