Mrs. Margie Galloway
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, January 26, 2012, Mrs. Margie F. Galloway, 87, wife of 70 years to LTC. Charles W. Galloway.
Born in Joanna, SC, Mrs. Galloway graduated from Clinton High school where she met Charles. They were married on October 4, 1941. Margie lived with Chuck when he was assigned military positions in Germany, Tokyo and Ishigaki Island in the East China Sea. Margie and Chuck moved to Augusta in 1954. They were members of Reid Memorial Presbyterian for 22 years. She attended a Business School in Augusta and worked at North Augusta Middle School as an Assistant Librarian for 9 years. Margie and Chuck loved to travel; their trips included Israel, Sicily, Spain, Italy, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Germany, England, Scotland and Ireland.
Family members in addition to her husband include sister: Catherine Prater of Charleston; nephew: Jack Prater and wife Beth of Douglasville, GA; niece Julie Prater Hund and husband Tom of Charleston; four great nephews and 3 great nieces.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church with Rev. Paul Sherwood officiating. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Men’s Breakfast Club and Covenant Sunday School Class.
