Maria Coselli Meehan
February 8, 1924 - February 2, 2010
On Tuesday, February 2, 2010, Mrs. Maria Coselli Meehan (Nany), wife of the late Francis Edward Meehan, departed this earthly life for a much deserved eternal rest with our Heavenly Father. Maria was born in 1924 to Caterina and Antonio Coselli. She was raised in Trieste, Italy and worked as a dietician in the U.S. Army hospital. It was there she met her late husband. They married in 1952, and settled in the United States.
Maria was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, as well as the Adult Prayer Group. She was a kind, generous woman, loved by all who had the pleasure of meeting her. She was a humble servant of the Lord, and enjoyed helping people. Her sense of humor was admired by many. Maria spent most of her life as a home-maker, and loved her family more than anything. She had a beautiful soul, and will be sorely missed by all. Maria was truly one of God’s angels here on earth, and finally has her wings.
Left to cherish her memory: a son, Brian D. Meehan (Michele), two daughters, Theresa Meehan Currie (Mark), and Edith J. Meehan; five grandchildren, Hope Henshall (Bill), Frank Currie (Lori), Nicholas Currie, Mikel Fulchi and Shane A. Meehan; three great grandchildren, J.B. Henshall, Daniel J. Currie, and W. Jesse Screws.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church on Saturday, February 13th at 1:00 P.M. with Father Charlie Hughes officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the Parish Hall. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to the Alzheimers Association National Office, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090-6011.
