Maria Weber Gibson
Augusta, GA – Mrs. Maria Weber Gibson, wife of the late Lt. Col. John S. Gibson, died at Eisenhower Hospital on May 13, 2011. She was born and grew up in Forchheim, Germany. She attended the Teachers Institute at the University of Bayreuth. In 1947 she married Capt. John S. Gibson and became an American citizen in 1952. Over the years she intermittently taught kindergarten, German and ballroom dancing. In 1986 she founded the Master’s Watchmen Ministry and wrote several Christian books as well as the lyrics and musical arrangements for nine Christian songbooks. For two years she hosted a weekly Christian radio program.
Mrs. Gibson is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Barbara Wardlow of Augusta, Ms. Marcia Gibson of Atlanta and Ms. Alexandra Gibson of Augusta and a son, Mr. John W. Gibson of Augusta, four grandchildren and one great grandson.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 16, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church with Pastor Edward C. Rees IV officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 15, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
