Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, April 10, 2016, Mrs. Marie Nora McBurney, 81 wife of Mr. Thomas Fredrick McBurney.
Mrs. McBurney was a native of Buffalo, NY but lived in the Augusta, GA for many years. She was teacher for more than 56 years the last 31 years in the area including Kerr Business College, St. Mary on the Hill Catholic School and Georgia Military College.
Family members in addition to her husband include daughter: Nora McBurney Wintrow and husband Christopher of Marietta; granddaughter: Cora Elizabeth Wintrow; sister: Margaret “Peggy” Anderson and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be Saturday, April 16, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Fr. Gerald Ragan, celebrant.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Thomas E. Starzl Transplant Institute, 3600 Forbes Ave at Meyran Ave, Suite 8084, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
The family will receive friends following the service in the parish hall.
