Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, November 15, 2014, Marie Perkins “Grunny” Streeter, 79, wife of 58 years to the late George H. Streeter.
Marie was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. She was a graduate of the Academy of Richmond County. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Marie was also an avid tennis player for many years at Westlake Country Club. Among her passions in life, she most enjoyed gardening, home decorating and hosting dinner parties for family and friends.
Family members include son: George “Chip” Streeter, Jr. and his wife Tracy; daughters: Julie Streeter, Dana Streeter Hanes and her husband Grayson; and grandchildren: Adam Streeter, Katie Streeter, Grayson Hanes, Harrison Hanes, Elizabeth Hanes, Delaney Andrews, and Hannah Streeter. Sisters: Eleanor Swain and the late June Herndon; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held Friday, November 21, 2014 at 1:00 pm. at Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Greg Porterfield officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2607 Commons Blvd., Augusta, GA 30909 or to Wesley United Methodist Church, 825 N. Belair Rd., Evans, GA 30809.
