Marilyn Pilcher Towill, 87, died peacefully at University Hospital on April 20, 2015 after a brief illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. John Judson Pilcher, Jr., her husband John Bell Towill, and her daughter Susan Lynne Pilcher.

She is survived by her daughter Marian Pilcher Steidl (Edward) of Charlotte, NC, her son John Judson Pilcher, III of Augusta, GA, her daughter-in-law Elaine Ziemba of San Francisco, CA, and her granddaughter Kathryn Pilcher Edmonds (Ty) and their two children John Champion and Hadley Kate Edmonds of Geismar, LA.

Marilyn is also survived by her stepdaughters Virginia Towill Maxwell (George) of Savannah, GA, Rebecca Towill Maxwell (William) of Charlotte, NC; their children and grandchildren.
A service of committal for the internment of ashes will be held at the Wrens Memorial Cemetery on Hill Street in Wrens, GA on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 11:00 AM. The service will be officiated by the Rev. George Maxwell, Jr. and the Rev. Anne Maxwell.

A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Augusta, GA, at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 1, 2015. Rev. George Muir, Rev. George Maxwell, Jr., and Rev. Anne Maxwell will officiate the Holy Eucharist service. Following the memorial service, a reception will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Wallace House at the Augusta Country Club.
