Augusta, GA - On Friday, October 8, 2021, Marion Bell Hatcher passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was 82 years old. Marion was preceded in death by her devoted husband, the late Robert (Bob) Hatcher of Augusta, Georgia and her loving sister, Dot (Bell) Burkett. She is survived by her dear sister, Irene (Bell) Hardy of Beaver Creek, Ohio, her daughter Melanie Zerbel (Darryl) of Augusta, GA, her son Bryan Hatcher (Julie) of Lutz, Florida, grandson Kalan Hatcher, Tanner Hatcher, Bruce Boyd (Brittany), Brett Zerbel, granddaughter Savannah Crews (Christian) , great grandchildren Braelyn, Blakely, and Brody.

Marion was born and raised in Macon, Georgia. She was a Registered Nurse at Macon Hospital and practiced as a charge nurse over the Neonatal Nursery. She met and married Robert (Bob) Hatcher of Macon, Georgia and they later relocated to Augusta, Georgia, where they spent the next fifty-four years of their life together. She later retired from the Richmond County School System as a school nurse. Marion and her late husband (Bob) were active members of St. Augustine Episcopal Church. She cherished her faith, family and friends above all else. She loved spoiling her grandchildren, practicing her art (painting, drawing and writing), traveling to new places, walking on the beach, and volunteering whenever she could. She was always willing to offer a helping hand to make everyone’s world a better place.

The family will be holding a memorial service to celebrate her life, on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 11:30 AM, at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church, 3321 Wheeler Road, Augusta, GA 30909. The family will also be celebrating the life of the late Robert (Bob)Hatcher, at this service as well.
