Marjorie Hammack Coursey
August 8, 1924 - December 16, 2009
Augusta, GA – Marjorie Hammack Coursey, 85, entered into rest Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Westwood Nursing Home. Mrs. Coursey was the wife of Marvin H. Coursey, Jr. She was a member of New Heights Baptist Church.
Mrs. Coursey was a former member of Crawford Avenue Baptist Church for over 50 years and an active member of Esther/Ellington Sunday School class. She loved flower gardening and making clothes for the girls in her life.
Family members in addition to her husband include; Sons, Marvin H. Coursey, (Lorene) of Dandridge, TN; Robert S. Coursey, (Priscilla) of Martinez; Daughter, Elizabeth C Booth (Scott) of Kennewick, WA; Four Grandchildren: Brian Coursey (Julie), Angie Spencer (Tim), Megan and Hannah Booth. Five Great-Grandchildren: Lauren Coursey, and Taylor Ann, Dallas, Carson and Cody Spencer. She is survived by one Brother, Shurley Hammack. She was preceded in death by her brother Paul Hammack and sister, Jackie Edwards.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Lloyd C. Greene and Rev. C. W. Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jack Edwards, Hugh Rhodes, III, Jerry Stone, Larry Maioriello, Ken Atterton and Greg Hammack.
