Evans, GA – Martha Kelly Gary died, Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Brandon Wilde. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert von Kamp Gary, John R. Hall, Jr., Albert von Kamp Gary, Jr. and Irene von Kamp Gary.

Martha was born in Monticello, Georgia, grew up in Hendersonville, North Carolina and graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild and also served at The Church of the Good Shepherd, Cashiers, North Carolina. Martha was president of the Junior League of Augusta and the Richmond County Historical Society, member of the Augusta Town Committee of the Colonial Dames of America and the Wayside Garden Club.

Surviving family members are her daughters: Carolyn Inglis (Joe) of Clarkesville, Georgia, Virginia Cann of Savannah, Georgia, Martha Baxter of Augusta, Georgia and Ann Sheffield of Atlanta, Georgia; stepchildren: Laura Van Geffen (Jack) of Annapolis, Maryland, Mary Hill Gary (Bill Huie) of Augusta, Georgia and Reed Gary (Jan) of Lawrenceville, Georgia; stepdaughter-in-law: Nancy Gary of Augusta, Georgia and grandson: John Sheffield (Sydney Payne) of Austin, Texas.

A private graveside service will be held at Westover Memorial Park.
