Martha G. Holley, 96 went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 15, 2024.

 

Martha lived all her life in Augusta Richmond County. Martha was born in Augusta, Georgia to John and Ida Grobe on December 5, 1927. She graduated from Tubman High in 1944. Upon graduation from High School she went to work at what was then the Georgia Railroad Bank. 

 

She later became a bank teller, and remained in that capacity for sixty years through the many changes in bank ownership until retiring in 2004. Martha was a charter member of Christ Church, Presbyterian in Evans, and a member of the choir. She previously attended First Presbyterian where she was a member of the choir, and taught children in Sword Club for over twenty-five years. Martha was an accomplished sketch artist. She loved to paint, do crosswords, dogs and put large puzzles together. If you knew Martha you know she loved people, and loved to talk.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Dr. Harold Engler, and nephew Samuel Engler. 

 

She is survived by nephews John D. Engler, Eben Engler, nieces Gay Engler White, Lou Engler Larkin, Julie Engler Miles, and cousins Carol Brown and Shirley Bignell. 

 

Funeral services will be at Christ Church Presbyterian, Evans at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 19th, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
