Martha H. Odom

Augusta, GA - Entered into rest on Monday, November 11, 2024, Mrs. Martha H. Odom, wife of 59 years to Ernest J. Odom. Family members include her daughter, Angela Welch (Earl); son, Ashley Odom (Shawn); granddaughters: Lauren Welch Birch (Andrew), Hannah Welch, Ashton Drake (John), Andersen Odom and Addisen Odom; brothers, Al Hardy (Jackie), Joe Hardy (Camille) nieces, nephews, and her four-legged companion, Windy.

Mrs. Odom was born at Eisenhower Hospital, Fort Gordon and lived all of her life in Augusta. She retired after 25 years as the principal's secretary at National Hills School. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Augusta and the Nova Sunday School Class. She loved sitting on the beach in Hilton Head, reading Amish novels, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her granddaughters. Her hobbies included crocheting hats for newborns with her Circle group, baking Christmas cookies for anyone who asked, and working in her garden. She was a social butterfly who was always friendly and kind.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 3:00 pm in the Storey Chapel at First Baptist Church, Augusta with Dr. Will Dyer officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until the time of the service. Honorary pallbearers will be the Nova Sunday School Class. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery.
