Augusta, GA – Martha Sue Bryant Stewart entered into rest Friday, December 13, 2013 in Augusta, GA after a long illness and was the last living member of her family. Services will be held in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Maund officiating and the family will receive friends one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will be on the family lot in Riverside Cemetery (old section) on Monday, December 16th at 11:00 a.m. in Macon, GA. Pallbearers will be John Stewart, Daniel Stewart, Adam Clark, Daniel Clark, Chris Dupree, and Kevin Collins.

She and her husband, Charles A. Stewart, Jr., enjoyed and coveted their marriage of 72 years. With her many friends in several communities of residence, she enjoyed various activities of interest, primarily church activities, garden clubs, bridge groups, and golf associated endeavors.

She was a member of St. John United Methodist Church and the Sells Sunday School Class.

She adored her family and besides her husband is survived by her daughter: Barbara S. Abair (Garry) of Newnan, GA, son: Charles A. Stewart III (Rita), grandsons: Christopher L. Dupree (Michelle) of Kennasaw, GA, Dr. John G. Stewart (Mallory), Daniel W. Stewart (Catherine), Adam S. Clark (Maggie), Daniel Clark (Bonnie), granddaughters: Suzanne D. Collins (Kevin) of Pendleton, SC, Gwen Roake (Phil), Nicole Pike, Kim Morris (Trey), 20 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was born in Crawford County, GA to Betty Marshall Bryant and C.O. Bryant. She was predeceased in death by her sisters: Pearl B. Joyner of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Pauline B. Hardison of Cedartown, GA, Emma B. Bryant of Byron, GA, Betty B. Wilson of Jonesboro, GA, brothers Frank Bryant of Ft. Valley, GA, Homer Bryant of Byron, GA, and Fred Bryant of Byron, GA.
