AUGUSTA, GA - Martin E. (Chuck) Monahan, 72, of Augusta, GA, passed away November 9, 2012.
Born in Philadelphia, PA he made Augusta his home for the past 50 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was retired from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Mr. Monahan was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Claudia (Jeanie) M. Monahan. He was the son of the late Francis J. and Jennie Selfridge Monahan and brother of the late Patricia M. McAllister, Kathryn M. Smith and Francis J. Monahan.
Survivors include his daughters Sharon (David) M. Sutton and Melody E. Monahan, two grandchildren, Matthew and Meagan, a sister Jean M. Smith of Malvern, NJ. and 5 special nieces, Patty (Terry), Linda (Dave), Barbara (Jay), Nancy (Tim) and Carol (Ed).
Those desiring to visit the family may do so at the home of his daughter Sharon, 3476 Rhodes Hill Drive, Martinez, GA 30907 on Sunday November 11, 2012, from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M.
Graveside services will be held Monday, November 12, 2012 at 12 Noon, Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Rev. John Johnson officiating.
The family request memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association at 190 Knox Abbott Drive, Suite 301, Casey, SC 29033.
