Evans, GA – Mrs. Mary Ann T. Sewell, 87, entered into rest on October 31, 2021, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Mary Ann was born to the late Carl S. Thompson and Evelyn Butts Thompson in Roanoke Rapids, NC. She attended Meredith College in Raleigh, NC where she met her husband of 67 years, Carl S. Sewell.
In addition to being survived by her loving husband, Mary Ann is survived by a son, Scott I. Sewell (Lori); a sister, Lynn T. Lupton (Charles); two daughters in law, Lynn Sewell and Connie Tucker(Howell); eight grandchildren: Chris Sewell (Alisha), Travis Sewell (Trish), Brittany Leatherwood (Daniel), Carly Martin (Davis), Price Sewell, Emily Williams (Clay), Peyton Sewell and Parker Sewell; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents; two of her sons Stan Sewell and Ken Sewell; a grandson Derek Raleigh Sewell; her two brothers Carl S. Thompson Jr. and David F. Thompson; and a sister Betty Lou T. Warren.
Mary Ann enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. She also insisted on frequent family trips and gatherings where wonderful memories were made. Ministering to others and strengthening relationships with her loving encouragement was a gift that she often exercised and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on William Few Parkway Friday, November 5th, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Charlie Stakely and Rev. Chris Sewell officiating. A reception will follow immediately after the memorial service where the family will receive and visit with friends. The family will hold a private Interment.
