Mary Arline Kelly
Augusta, GA –Mrs. Mary Arline Kelly, 79, wife of Samuel A. Rigby and the late William Philip Kelly, entered into rest Tuesday, May 26, 2015,
Arline was born in Cincinnati, OH, then moved to Augusta in 1945. She grew up on Glenn Avenue where she also raised her 5 children. She was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph and a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church where she served in the Altar Society. Arline was also a member of the Irish American Heritage Society and was awarded “Irish Lady of the Year” and “Irish Family of the Year." An avid bridge player, she cherished spending that time with her life- long friends. Arline was a devoted, faithful Catholic whose greatest pleasure was serving others.
Family members in addition to her husband include her sons: Philip M. Kelly and wife Ellen, Kevin A. Kelly; daughters: Brigid K. Richardson and husband Mike, Karen Kelly Hayes, Patricia K. Real and husband Michael; grandchildren: Allison, Philip and Lindy Kelly; Matthew, Charlotte, and Savannah Kelly; Morgan and Evan Richardson; Kinsi and Grace Hayes; Michael, Liam, and Aidan Real and sister, Bonnie Kinsella Strine. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mary Kinsella.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Fr. Gerald Ragan as celebrant. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Philip M. Kelly, Evan Richardson, William Matthew Kelly, Michael Joseph Real, Jr., Dan Walters, Dr. Paul Mahoney, Ray Brady, and Jim Thrash. A vigil service will be held Thursday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends following at 6:30 at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church.
