Mrs. Mary Christine Synan
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, May 28, 2011, Mrs. Mary Christine Synan, 87, loving and devoted wife of the late Irvin Nathanial Synan.
Mrs. Synan was a native of Glade Springs, VA and lived in the Augusta area since 1979. She worked as an Analyst Division Head for National Security Agency at Fort Mead, MD. Mrs. Synan was a member of St. Mark and Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She was very active as a volunteer at Golden Harvest Food Bank, Bethlehem Community Center, Augusta Soup Kitchen, St. Joseph’s Hospital Hospice, and the United Methodist Women’s Organization.
Family members include son, Jeffrey Lynn Synan (Kathy); daughter, Joan Frances Betros (Fareed); grandchildren: Kimberly Dawn Masters (Dep. Chris Masters), Stacy Lea Olguin (Rocky), Kelly Nicole Angeli (Aaron), 1st Lt. Christopher Dean Synan (Krystina), David Loren Brooks (Tracy), Daniel Lee Brooks, Quinn Gabriel Masi (Reina); and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Irvin Nathanial Synan and grandson Russell Nathanial Synan.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Charles Broome officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be David Loren Brooks, Daniel Lee Brooks, Quinn Gabriel Masi, Fareed Betros (Ret. Col. U.S. Army), Christopher Dean Synan (1st Lt. U.S. Army), Rocky Olguin, Aaron Angeli, Chris Masters, and Herman Bishop.
