Mary Ann Edwards

Augusta, GA – Mary Ann Edwards, 72, peacefully passed from this life into eternity on October 11, 2022, after a year-long battle with Multiple Myeloma.

Mary Ann was a long-time resident of Evans, Georgia where she retired after 30 combined years of dedicated service with the State of South Carolina and Payne College. Following the untimely passing of her beloved husband Robert in 2009, Mary Ann discovered a love of kayaking that took her to many beautiful places and gained her many new friendships. She found so much joy in new adventures and time spent on the water.

Her greatest love and joy came from her family who she treasured with all of her heart. She had a special connection with each of them and would jump at the chance to take a road trip to visit those who lived out of town. Although her health had declined over the past year, she never lost her unwavering zest for life and dreamed of days ahead of new adventures to come. She is now able to share those adventures in eternity with her beloved Robert and those who have gone before her.

Daughter of the late Gayal and Doris Ellis, Mary Ann is survived by sons Scott (Missy) Martin, Garrett Edwards, sister, Terry (William) Powell, two grandchildren, Matthew and Lucas Martin, cherished nieces and nephews, and many other special family and friends. In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was predeceased by her mother-in-law Winifred Edwards and siblings Tony and William Ellis.
