Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, November 6, 2014, Mary Evelyn Izlar Baxter, wife of the late Robert V. Baxter.
Mrs. Baxter was a lifelong member of St. James United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the University Hospital Women’s Board and she loved the Atlanta Braves.
Family members include daughters: Melinda Allmon and husband Mike of Gloucester, VA, Carole Curtis and husband Todd of North Augusta, SC; sons: Bobby Baxter, husband of the late Lisa Baxter, of Augusta, Billy Baxter and wife Suzanne of North Augusta, SC; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Christina Layman Howell.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Sandra Leightner officiating. Interment will be in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers to include: Christopher Baxter, Kyle Baxter, Duncan Curtis, Mike Layman, Jack Izlar, Bradley Powell, Winston Pilcher, and Richard Swann.
Memorials may be made to St. James United Methodist church, 439 Greene Street, Augusta, GA 30901.
