Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, October 10, 2012, Mrs. Mary Frances Creech Weathers, 84, wife of Mr. James I. Weathers, Sr.
Mrs. Weathers was a loving wife of 55 years, grandmother and great grandmother. She was known as Mema to her grandchildren. Mrs. Weathers was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Tubman High School. She became a secretary at Oliver General Hospital. After marrying, she was a stay at home mother and later became the secretary of the Anesthesiology Department at the Veterans Administration Hospital.
Family members in addition to her husband include son: James I. Weathers, Jr. (Lynn) of Martinez; daughter: Leanne W. Mulherin (Eddie) of Lawrenceville, GA; four grandchildren: David and Steffany Weathers, Hannah and Matthew Mulherin; great granddaughter: Layla Weathers; and sister-in-law Ella Banks Boyle.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Tom Kalliokoski officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church Building Fund at 3131 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30909 or to Trinity Hospice Memorial at PO Box 31358 Augusta, GA 30903.
