Mary Frances Pearman
Augusta, GA- Funeral services for Mary Frances Pearman, 92, who entered into rest June 11, 2016, will be conducted on Thursday, June 16, at 1:00 p.m. at Martinez United Methodist Church with Reverend Gary McWhorter officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 15, at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors on Davis Road at 6-8 P.M.
Mrs. Pearman was born August 1, 1923 in St. Joseph, MO, to Huston and Lillie Glasco. She grew up in Albany, MO, where she graduated from high school and attended Johnson Business College in St. Joseph, MO. Mary Fran worked at the Gentry County Bank until 1946, when she married Marvin C. Pearman and afterward lived in Germany from 1946-1948. Because of Marvin’s Air Force career the couple lived in several states before settling in Augusta, GA in 1967. They were members of Martinez UMC and the McDonald Sunday School class. Mary Fran was also a member of the Magruder Circle.
Mary Fran was a devoted mother who enjoyed making her children’s clothes and supporting them in their interests and hobbies. She was an eager baby sitter for her grandchildren and attended their sporting and musical events. Her calendar was also full of church activities.
Mrs. Pearman was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Marvin, and her parents, Huston Banner and Lillie Cathryn Glasco, Albany, MO. Survivors include her only sister, Phyllis Norman of St. Joseph, MO, four children—Kathy Berry (Richard), OR, Paul Pearman (Michele), Mary Ann Aranda (Joey), and Susie Felz (Mike), all in Augusta, GA. Surviving grandchildren include Karen Berry Byers (John), WA, Ellen Berry, WA. Katie Aranda McFarland (Jason) Athens, GA, Aaron Aranda, SC, Daniel Felz, TX, Anna Felz, Joe Felz (Sarah), GA, and Tim Felz, TX. Additional survivors are great-grandchildren, Ana and Dane Byers, WA, and two nephews, Scott Norman, GA and Stephen Norman, MO.
Pallbearers will be Daniel, Joe, and Tim Felz, Jason McFarland, Aaron Aranda, and Russ Saul. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the McDonald S.S. class.
Mrs. Pearman’s family are extremely grateful to the wonderful caregivers who tended to her during her extended illness. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Martinez United Methodist Church.
