Augusta, GA – Mary Frances Leaver Gray of Charlotte, NC went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2016. Mrs. Gray was born in 1925 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Mrs. Gray was preceded in death by Zane Gray, her husband of 65 years. She is survived by her son, Thomas Zane Gray and wife Sharon of Jenkinsville, SC; and daughter Zana Gray Fogarty and husband Bill of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren: Patrick Zane Gray, William Bradley Fogarty, Kelli Zana Hartzog, Leslie Frances Gray, Daniel Zane Fogarty, and Stephen Thomas Fogarty. She is survived by twelve great grandchildren.

Mrs. Gray was a member of National Hills Baptist Church in Augusta, GA. She was a Ladies Bible Study teacher and actively involved in the ministries of the church until she moved to Charlotte. She served as a school nurse in the Richmond County School system for several years.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mary Frances Gray will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. Visitation will be held from Noon until 1:00 PM. Mrs. Gray’s son in law, Rev. Bill Fogarty, will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
