Evans, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, October 16, 2011 Mrs. Mary “Mayme” Lifsey, 90, beloved wife of 68 years to Leonard Horace Lifsey.

Mrs. Lifsey was a native of Georgetown, GA. She lived in Augusta since 1955 after returning from 3 years stationed in Germany with her husband. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church since 1956 and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class whose teacher is her son Tom. Mrs. Lifsey retired from Fort Gordon after 20 years of service in accounting. She then worked side by side with her husband in their business endeavors for 30 years before retiring from The Lifsey Group.

Family members in addition to her husband include, daughters; Mary G. Schroer (Tim) of Grovetown, Judith L. Love (fiancé, Nathan Youngblood) of Martinez, sons; Leonard H. Lifsey, Jr. (Gay) of Boston, MA, James Thomas Lifsey (Cyndy), John Allen Lifsey (Shahnaz Dowydar) of Augusta, grandchildren; Monica LaVold (Tim) of Elk River, MN, Emily Rutherford (William) of Johns Creek, GA, J.J. Lifsey of Augusta, Danny Lifsey (Amanda) of Ft. Stewart, Rasha Lifsey of Augusta, Jimmy Lifsey of Athens, Jacob Lifsey of Augusta, Rachel Love of Augusta, Jesica Love of Atlanta, Katy Love of Augusta; and great grandchildren; Madeleine Rutherford, Parker LaVold and Noah LaVold.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Dr. Gordon Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
