Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, March 14, 2018, Mrs. Mary Agnes Roberts, 94.

Mrs. Roberts served as a nurse in the Navel Cadet Corp at St. Albans Hospital in New York during WWII. She was Director of the Emergency Room and Plaster Room at University Hospital prior to being the Director of Admissions at the then new Doctor’s Hospital. Mrs. Roberts was a member of Augusta Old Line Primitive Baptist Church and was president of the Sacred Harp singing group.

Family members include her daughter: Kathy Roberts Thigpen (Wilbur); four grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband: James Aubrey Roberts and son: James Spencer Roberts.

A prayer service will be Friday, March 16, 2018, 5:00 P.M. and the family will receive visitors from 5:30 until 7:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors. Interment will be Saturday at Old Valley Grove Church Cemetery in Ocilla, GA.
