Mary Frances Kay Tyson
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, October 4, 2016, Mrs. Mary Frances Kay “Mimi” Tyson, 93, devoted wife of 51 years to the late Mr. H. Lynton Tyson.
Mary Frances was a native of Elberton, Georgia. She and her husband raised their three daughters in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. She was a homemaker and a member of Christ Church. Upon his death she moved to Evans, Georgia to be closer to family. She became a member of The Church of the Holy Comforter. She loved to embroider, was an avid reader, and never missed her grandchildren’s athletic games.
Mimi created many wonderful memories for her children and grandchildren. Everyone that met Mary Frances loved her for her kindness and sense of humor.
Family members include daughters: Kay Tyson Bachman (Bob) of Dallas, TX, Lyn Tyson McCall (Charlie) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, and Molly Tyson Senn (Mark) of Evans, GA; grandchildren: Liza Bachman Caruthers of Fort Worth, TX, Kristina Bachman Jung of Dallas, TX, Brantley Philip Senn of Athens, GA, Christopher Mark Senn and Mary Caroline Senn both of Augusta, GA; four great grandchildren; brother William Benjamin Kay (Mary Grace) of Sandersville, GA; a host of nieces and nephews; and her cherished dog Eli.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Carolyn Kay McCall and Martha Kay Thomas.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers and friends: Kaffie Coleman, Peggy Taylor, Cheryl Mack, and Ginger and Chuck Purkey.
A memorial service will be held Monday, October 10, 2016, 2:00 P.M. the Church of the Holy Comforter with the Rev. Dr. Cynthia N. Taylor officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Holy Comforter, Building Fund, 473 Fury’s Ferry Road, Martinez, GA 30907 or to the Community Foundation for the CSRA, 1316 Glenn Avenue, Augusta, GA, 30904. On donations, please note Augusta Animal Services.
