Evans, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, December 1, 2011, Mr. Max Weber, Jr., 92, husband of the late Mrs. Evelyn Marie Brinkman.
Mr. Weber was a native of Newark, N.J. He was a long time residence of Sandy Springs, GA and lived in Evans for the past 5 years. Mr. Weber served in the U.S. Navy from 1941 to 1946 as commanding officer of 2 ships stationed in the Pacific. He was the Korean War U.S. Naval Reserve Commanding Officer in Troy, New York. Mr. Weber retired in 1962 as a commander in the Naval Reserve. He retired from Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in 1984 as the assistant to the Vice President of the National Sales Department. He graduated from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C. in 1947 with a Bachelor of Science in Business. He was an avid Tarheel fan.
Family members include: daughter, Heidi Weber LaPan of Evans; son, William John Weber of Franklin, GA; sister, Lucia Ham of New Jersey; 3 grandchildren: Jackie LaPan Edgerton (Colin), Carl LaPan, Ashley Ryan; 4 great grandchildren: Caroline Edgerton, Lily Edgerton, Ava Ryan and Cora Ryan.
A Memorial Mass at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church will be held Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Justin Ferguson Celebrant.
Memorial contributions may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 3508 Professional Circle, Suite A, Augusta, GA 30907.
The family will visit with friends after the Mass for lunch at the church.
