Michael Gorman

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Saturday, August 26, 2023, Mr. Michael Henry Gorman, 69, loving husband of the late Beth Gorman.

Michael was a 1972 graduate of Butler High School. He travelled all over the country as a truck driver. He loved all things Disney and especially enjoyed visiting Disney World. Michael was an avid lover of golf, loved visiting the Masters Tournament and was a huge fan of Jack Nicklaus. Michael was a hilarious jokester, grandiose storyteller and enjoyed making those around him smile or laugh.

Family members include his children: Heather Johnson (Joe Pobalis), Carl Beene (Janey), Daniel Gentry and Diana Chase; sisters: Patricia Justice (Tom) and Mary Ellen Smith, Elizabeth Scarboro; nephews: Joseph Howard Gorman (Tia), Quito Justice, Chris Reeley and John Reeley; nieces: Osha Justice-Zabka (Matt) and Connie Powell (Jason); several grandchildren, great nieces and nephews, and extended family. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents, Lt. Col. Howard Gorman and Georgia Mulherin Gorman, and brother, Andrew R. Gorman.

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 8, 2023, at 6:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Nathaniel Nesbitt officiating.
