Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, December 15, 2012, SFC Michael K. Bogart, U.S. Army Retired, 87, husband of the late Eva V. Bogart.
Mr. Bogart was a native of Poland. He came to the U.S. at 17 years old. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and retired after 21 years as a medic. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star along with several other medals. After retirement he continued nursing at St. Joseph Hospital and enjoyed spending time with his family and helping others. He was a member of Augusta First 7th Day Adventist Church
Family members include daughter: Ursula Sheffer (Mark); sons: Peter Bogart (Lili), Horst Beck, Uwe Beck (Mary); 8 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park with full military honors.
