Mike Scott

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, William Michael “Mike” Scott, Sr., age 75, loving husband of 54 years to Mrs. Joan Oldham Scott.

Mike was born in Camden, SC and was an avid SC Gamecock fan. He was a member of Abilene Baptist Church where he was a dedicated usher and served in many different areas in the church. Mike enjoyed being outside and thoroughly enjoyed cutting the grass. Mike also enjoyed being out on the lake when he was still able to go fishing with his closest friends. When he wasn’t at home, he could often be found enjoying a cup of coffee at the Circle K. A devoted family man, Mike loved his family and especially his grandchildren. The children enjoyed seeing him at any of their school or sporting events.

Family members, in addition to his wife Joan, include his children: Michael Scott, Jr. (Christie), Eric Scott (Libby), and Ashley Dahlmann (Paul); grandchildren: Joey, Lauryn, Waylon, Eric, Jr., Dakota, Gavin, Everett, Ava, Trevor and Aviana; great grandchild: Everly and brothers: Pat Scott (Nancy) and Tim Scott. Mike was preceded in death by his parents William Carl and Susie Reeves Scott.

The funeral service will be held Monday, February 27, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Bill Harrell officiating. Interment will follow in Abilene Baptist Church Cemetery.
