Mrs. Mildred Walton Heath
October 2, 1914 - February 4, 2010
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, February 4, 2010, Mrs. Mildred Walton Heath, 95, wife of the late James W. (Billy) Heath, Sr. and daughter of the late Paul E. and Sallie Gaines Walton.
Mrs. Heath was born in Columbia, SC but had resided in the Augusta area most of her life. She was raised in the Stevens Creek Power Plant Community in Columbia County. She was a charter member of James Island Baptist Church in Charleston, SC and later was a charter member of West Acres Baptist Church in Evans and was a Sunday School teacher and WMU leader. Mrs. Heath served as a volunteer with Reach to Recovery for the American Cancer Society.
Family members include her three favorite sons: James W. (Jim) Heath, Jr. and wife Diane of Melbourne Beach, FL, C. Edward Heath and wife Betty of Evans, Philip R. Heath and wife Sue of Evans; grandchildren: Chris Lane (Shelly), Nicki Dye (Wayne), Charles Heath, Ashlee Heath, Ryan Heath (Lesley), Christine Heath Bondi (Steve), Cara Heath, Jennifer Mildred DeVitto (Michael); and thirteen great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Kentwood Nursing Facility and Elmcroft Assisted Living for their loving care.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 8, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at West Acres Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Harmon officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mel Breithaupt, Don Lindsey, Mike Edwards, Charlie Price, Douglas Wheatley, and Johnny Williams.
